ds_recsredux. I really do think this piece (along with the sequels Ashes, Ashes We All Fall Down and The Steadfast Tin Soldier) represents the best of what due South fanfiction has to offer. Hth crafts a compelling and absorbing narrative here while providing amazing insight and deep, poignant characterization of Fraser and his Rays.
