I (re)posted a bunch of dSc6d stuff from the Facebook Due South! and Fraser/Kowalski groups, and from official Instagrams of CKR and DM, on my own DW the last few weeks... but the audience for my DW is limited 🙂 and I wanted to update people on dSc6d stuff that might interest them. (Image heavy, so all links are behind cuts.)

1) people posted Happy Birthday posts to PG and Daniel Kash in the Due South! Facebook page (screen shots) )
2) Lexical elaboration research, reported in Scientific American, shows there actually ARE many words for snow in Inuktitut, and that's no hoax (links and screen shot) )

3) The Callum Keith Rennie Official Instagram posted a gorgeous, if low-res, video of an old interview (screen shot, link) )

4) Happy Victoria Day greetings from the Facebook dS group, with the gift of a link to a full older interview with PG and David Keeley (screen shot, link) )

5) CNN will livestream Good Night, and Good Luck, starring George Clooney, from Broadway - with PG supporting in the role of CBS exec William S. Paley - on June 7 (screen shot, link) )
ETA: 6) David Marciano posted a photo of an arty presentation of the classic prosciutto and melon Italian appetizer (links, screenshot) )

In summary:
I can't seem to stay on top of Facebook, Instagram, and tumblr simultaneously... inevitably something gets missed and lately, that has been tumblr. Luckily mortmere has dSc6d art covered - like a blanket!

ETA:I'll try to check tumblr more often than I have lately. But it's the only social media that doesn't email an update everytime someone you follow posts something - which is the only way I find out about Facebook and IG updates from the various dSc6d folks on there and on the FB groups.

Today (Feb. 11) is Leslie Nielsen's birthday. Among his many dramatic and comedic film and TV roles, he played Sgt. Frobisher in multiple due South episodes. Sadly, he passed away in 2010.

Hi all!

Just had a thought that since I had great fun following the recently released season 5 of Star Trek: Discovery—starring CKR—and giffing my way through it, I might as well share the gifs! Maybe you'll also enjoy the ears, the uniform and the intensity. Here they are.

There's also a cool piece of art (not mine) here, and a fic I wrote for a kind-of-rarepair here.

Um, and if you wanna watch it and not bother with streaming/torrents I uploaded it here for now.

Have fun etc etc!

A couple of Paul's interviews from Open Mike with Mike Bullard surfaced recently, thanks to a fan who happened to find them on an old hard drive - yeah, check those things and share the old stuff, pleeeease! I've been scouring the internets for dS stuff for two years now and these are all new to me, so the odds are there are more people who haven't seen them.

As a bonus, one more PG interview transcript via Wayback Machine, from September 1998. Paul has been on the show so many times - it's kind of odd that the videos of his appearances are so hard to find. Some of us on Tumblr/FB have been looking for the episode from which this screenshot is from - any help to date or locate the episode would be appreciated!

Just to be thorough, I'll include links to Ramona Milano's and CKR's appearances on the show, too (though these have been available on YouTube for over a decade).

Copied from a post by [personal profile] clarasteam who got it from the ATX Television Festival newsletter (and who notes that screening is at 6 pm CT, and it looks as if the pilot episode will only be available to watch live but the panel discussion will be available afterwards):

Join us on Sunday, October 18th as we revisit one of Canada's most-beloved (and cancelled-too-soon) exports.

We'll start by screening the pilot episode with Writer/Creator/Actor Susan Coyne, Writer/Creator/Producer Bob Martin, and Writer/Creator/Actor Mark McKinney LIVE in the YouTube chat. Normally we don't promote talking during TV, but we'll obviously make an exception!

Following the screening, Susan, Bob, and Mark will be joined by Actors Paul Gross, Martha Burns and Luke Kirby, for a conversation moderated by Emily Nussbaum of The New Yorker. Miss it and we might have to haunt you.

Make sure to tune in on our ATX TV YouTube channel!

The AO3 collection for the upcoming Ray Vecchio Day can be found here! I can't wait to see what everyone has done! \o/

So what if Ray decides to move to Canada with Fraser? What if all his bags are packed and they’re in a van taking all their stuff to the fozen North? What if Ray would get nervous and second-guess?
Or you could just call this vid: Roadtrip with Ray Kowalski.
Be sure to watch it up to the very end. It’s the snippet that prompted me to make this video.

Fun fact: absolutely no due South clips were used in this video. Just Wilby Wonderful and Hard Core Logo.

I was cleaning off my hard drive when I discovered that I had a bunch of dS/C6D media that I really have no interest in keeping. And since a lot of this stuff is old and/or obscure and/or hard to find, I thought I'd give people a chance to grab copies before deleting them off my computer forever.

The rest of the tl;dr under the cut... )

ETA: And it's all gone!

You can find 4 short Slings & Arrows podfics mostly about Anna, a gen fic about Inspector Thatcher, a poem about Stella and Victoria, and a Stella Kowalski/Ray Vecchio fic HERE for your reading and listening enjoyment.

Thank you so much to everybody who participated by creating something, sharing the fest announcements, or enjoying the works!  See you all next year.

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a copy of this movie? It is a really wonderful movie, with a young, innocent, floppy haired CKR, based on a Great (in capitals) Irish plays (tragicomedy) and I cannot believe it is not available online.

Does someone have a copy they can sprend or share on dropbox? If so, I will love you forever.

Thank you kindly.

Apologies, but I'm not quite sure what category to use for tags.

I bring this here, as it is good to see our beloved shows are remembered.

The website TV,eh?, a site about Canadian television, is running a poll. The questions is: What TV shows best defines Canada?

Due South and Slings and Arrows are two of the options.

Interested in taking part? The poll is located here.

It's Valentine's day, which can only mean one thing - time for the C6DVD Master List to go up!

Please feel free to stop by and see the wonderfully creative stuff that was accidentally sent to fangirls (instead of poor RayK, Ben, Frannie, Turnbull, Geoffrey, Ellen or Oliver) this year :)
[identity profile] mizface.livejournal.com
Yep, I'm running it again! It's time to sign up for the annual C6D Valentines Day card exchange \o/

Did anyone see Callum in this past week's episode of Motive on ABC?

It was wonderful. Callum's character was sweet and tender. He was explosively aggressive and yet deeply caring. He was clever and kind but wounded in a way that made me want to smush him into a big hug and tell him everything would be okay. At one point Callum's character, Stuart, was weeping in the shower, fully clothed and covered in blood and I came really close to crying myself even though I'm not usually the kind to lose it like that over a tv show.

The best part is that he was the killer in this episode! (not a spoiler BTW, Motive starts every ep by telling you exactly who is the killer.) He killed a young man with a wife and children. Premeditated murder. But I still really liked this guy and was worried for him. When the show ended I was like "Wait! What's going to happen to Stuart? You can't leave me hanging like this!"

Now I really want our favourite Mountie to go to Vancouver to help him :)

Anyway, awesome performance by CKR and I highly recommend that you go to your favourite ABC on-demand site and give it a look. The show is called Motive and the episode is called "PitFall"
