Look at Draco! Look at them all! The video is shaky and cuts very abruptly in places, but what a joy it is to see any snippets at all from this event 26 years ago! This also gives me hope that gems like this will pop up in future, too!

I'm sharing this link pretty much everywhere right now so no one misses it a moment longer - it's been on YouTube for months and I only heard of it today. There are more clips from various late 1990s due South cons on the same channel, so do check them as well.

A couple of Paul's interviews from Open Mike with Mike Bullard surfaced recently, thanks to a fan who happened to find them on an old hard drive - yeah, check those things and share the old stuff, pleeeease! I've been scouring the internets for dS stuff for two years now and these are all new to me, so the odds are there are more people who haven't seen them.

Paul has been on the show so many times - it's kind of odd that the videos of his appearances are so hard to find. Some of us on Tumblr/FB have been looking for the episode from which this screenshot is from - any help to date or locate the episode would be appreciated!

... is now available on Encore+ (youtube channel). This is especially good news for non-native speakers like me because there are (automatically generated) subtitles available (there aren’t any on my DVDsets). The image quality is also pretty good!

They also uploaded season 2 and 3 of Slings and Arrows! This is fantastic seeing as the DVDs aren’t available anymore with my region code.

I need to add something to this..

This video just happened. I wanted to make something angsty, something with pining men who can’t show their feelings and end up hurting themselves even more. The music might be upbeat, but the lyrics speak of addiction, distraction and anxiety.

My storyboard was like this:
Part 1: Nervousness, carelessness, anxiety
Part 2: Fraser is falls hard for Ray and can’t stop admiring him /
Ray LOVES Fraser and starts dancing through life out of sheer joy
Part 3: (Internalized) homophobia makes them throw away all that goodness because it’s the 90’s and they are cops and the world is a mean place. Love must be hidden and touches must be secret.

But then the muse was like ‘nah’.
In this video Ray does walk away. But Fraser is right there knocking on his door. Fraser does have to sleep on the floor, but maybe just because he can be pretty annoying, and Ray knows he doesn’t really mind sleeping alone from time to time.

They drive through windows, bicker and roll their eyes at each other, mirror body language, stand really close together. Part two keeps happening.
And in this video no one gives a damn about the fact that they are two men madly in love.

Because Due South is magical realism. Because love and friendship are beautiful. And because we CAN have nice things.

There is a bit of a story behind this vid: quite a while ago,

fiercynn had asked me for a Vecchio vid, and sent over a bunch of songs she thought might work for it. I heard this one and immediately knew I wanted to use it. It wasn't until I was about 7/8 of the way finished that I learned that due South fandom already has an Ordinary Day vid.

I deliberated about posting this for a long time, not wanting to step on anybody's toes. It seems that the original Ordinary Day (by

yunitsa) is entirely from the third and fourth seasons, while this version is entirely from seasons one and two, so hopefully they can be seen as complimentary. In any event, I had no intention of copying that lovely fanwork, and I hope that posting this doesn't offend.

I've just been watching keerawa's AWESOME dS vids, and wanted to know of any other vids not on youtube?

Also, looking for a specific vid which I loved some months back, but forgot to put in memories: I remember it was described as a 'love letter to fandom', and included clips from all sorts of fandoms (including dS) but also star trek, blake seven, star wars, doctor who etc.

Please let someone know which one I'm talking about!

But mainly, I'm looking for more awesome dS vids. And since I've watched all of keerawa's, I need more!
