Um. Okay then. Order of Enjoyment:
1. Trying to ascertain Ray's leanings first. The most honest thing Fraser could do in such a situation, even if so very oblique. And Ray's absolute and horrified refusal to have anything whatsoever to do with giving him any such hints. A brilliant contrast with the equally brilliant "How Ray Got His Groove Back" (highly recommended, especially with vibrator in hand, but not anywhere near work, not if you need your higher thinking centers available to you).
2. Trying, irascibly, to meet the needs of his body without compromising - at least too severely - his principles concerning proper relationships. And succeeding well enough to surprise even himself, as this utterly competent man always does ...
3. Getting caught in his own net, as is all too usual in these sorts of situations; becoming visible to Ray as having difficulties, and Ray responding with alarm, suspicion, and that narrow detective gaze of his.
4. Finally giving up the fight when too exhausted to keep it up, and getting a surprised, but pleased, response from Ray.
All right. Especially yummy bits:
oooo, reaaaally hot spicy mango-chutney fantasies Fraser comes up with!
*sings* Ray's gonna catch him, Ray's gonna cath him! Fraser's self-appalled and ineffective means of misdirecting Ray are, well, highly recognizable, really, to those of us with the misfortune to have attempted anything similar.
Actually getting what he really wants in his fantasy brings the entire thing crashing down. So sad, so real.
I bow at your toes.

Oh my dear lord, how much do I love you for even mentioning this in the same *paragraph* as HRGHGB (one of my all-time favorites and probably THE hottest story I've ever read).
::fans self at the reminder::
I think you've hit on all the major things I wanted to make sure I expressed ... so, double yay! And thanks so much for letting me read your reactions!!!
