So.

Um.

Late last week, as I sat slogging through my Evidence homework and absently patting the dog, RayK and Fraser emerged from the back room in my brain where they'd been having a high old time and, well, hijacked my fingers. [livejournal.com profile] estrella30, who should probably be canonized, took pity on a newbie and betaed the result at some ungodly hour of the morning (and the revision on her lunch hour - give that girl a Jazz Badge all her own!).

The result can be found on DueSlash. It will also be findable on my LJ in the next hour or so, once I provide a little context for the members of my flist who know not the wonders of slash. Feedback welcome there. (The LJ, not the flist. Gah. Post already.) [ETA: okay, not so much with the "next hour or so" thing, and now the dog and I, we must walk. So, eh, tomorrow for the context.]

Looking with Intent

I'm saving the story for later, but, in response to the Australian turtle comment in the notes:

http://www.kingsnake.com/oz/turtles/turtles.htm

No shortage of turtles in Oz!

Well, the only reason I know anything about Australian turtles is I went to a petting zoo in Brisbane about 4 months ago. (Having a toddler is surprisingly educational.) All the usual suspects - koalas, wallabies, platypuses. And turtles. Lots and lots of turtles. Until then, despite living in Oz for 8 years, I had no idea they had native turtles. As you say, who knew?

I'll be interested to hear what you think of the story itself, if/when you read it.

Oh, you evil evil crack dealer. Feed me the good stuff, and then leave me hanging. Evil. Eeeeevil.

Seriously, that was beautiful. I loved the little details that put them in the '00's - Google, Fraser in khakis (still a few years behind!). And the nipple ring - I 've long thought Ray would have got a piercing at some stage, but that Fraser asked him... Mmmmm.

I also liked the structure - the setup, the back story and then the cliff-hanger ending. Reeled me in, played me, left me hanging!

It's always nice to find a new author, but a new good author... Made my evening!

Oh, dude, you're SHITTING me. This is just CRUEL--you post something like this which is all voiced and sexy and stuff and then STOP THERE? I don't know if you've NOTICED, but unlike Ray, my curiousity has not been assuaged by a luscious Mountie, ok?

Where is the rest of this???!

EVIL EVIL EVIL WOMAN!

*loves*

Errr, not you, [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza, though you are in other ways... I was just kinda contributing my agreement to your description of [livejournal.com profile] qe2 as cruel.

You know what I like best about this fic? It's the kinkiest F/K I've seen that still manages to stay close within my perception of their characters. Nipple ring? I never woulda thunk it, but here it works.

Please! Pleeeease please please please please oh God pretty please write more?

*dies of suspense and some hitherto undiscovered female variant of blue balls — hey, whaddaya know, those boys in high school who always said it could kill them were right*

And from beyond the grave I haunt you still with pleas for more. On my knees. I beg very prettily with the right motivation. And I am motivated liek whoa, here.

And again I send you a begging icon in supplication!

(actually, seriously, writer to writer--

as a reader, I wanna know I wanna know! As a writer, OTOH, you do well to stop here unless you've got a 100 percent gangbuster thing up your sleeve, which based on this kind of prose you well might! Otherwise, you might want to leave it deliciously vague, much like the suitcase in Pulp Fiction; everyone can then speculate on what the dirty thing IS that could make Fraser sweaty and hard like this.

I will deny this advice in public, of course. *G* But you can't always listen to readers, you know--not even me. *G*)

Heeeeeee! This is the single best comparison to something I've ever read.

As if I didn't think you were wonderful already...

I'm not happy. No. Not at all. How on earth am I supposed to concentrate until I know what Fraser was looking at? How am I supposed to be funcitonal if I'm non verbal with lust over Ray's nipple ring? Huh?

This was great! And like everybody else, I was like, "The story can't be done -- I have to know what was on that computer screen!" I can't wait to read the next part.

Ray's voice is amazing. For me you've captured the fire, intelligence, love and wickedness that is RayK to me. As I was reading I could hear him as if he was actually over my shoulder saying these things. Will be pimping this on my LJ!

Heh, I'm a little late to the party, but I read the story. Then I had to go back and make sure, did it all download before I copied it into Word. Ack! That is all there was! Great story, and way to go, leaving us all begging for more.

This is great. ***Love*** the details. Jack Pierrot's rusting pickup, the weather- stripping they haven't gotten around to repairing, that Fraser owns his own jeep now, "his streak of white hair over his ear where a perp clocked him last year."
Thanks for putting a link to Dira's fine "Exposures." I'd read it of course, but didn't know that I needed to reread it.
qe2, please write more, soon!!! Please!!! Pretty please!!!
Thank you,

Julia

Sorry. *g*
