This places RayK within a circle of pre-existing friends / acquaintances / what-have-you, of a kind that are so definitely at one with the kind of person Ray is. Very nice.

I like that Ray and Fraser kind of slide out to each other under cover of the topic at hand: that it requires honesty in one's own experience in order effectively to refute Sparky and the girlfriend. That they are able to, if you will, camouflage their mutual lack of knowledge within the larger group's joint distress at Sparky and the girlfriend.

I like Fraser's immediate, polite and yet uncompromising defense of the position.
