News: NOVA episode on Franklin

Those of you who are curious about just what Captain Sir John Franklin and his men went through while searching for the Northwest Passage should check your local listings for PBS. NOVA is running an episode called “Arctic Passage,” in which Franklin’s tragic fate is compared with Roald Amundsen’s successful quest for the North Pole.

What’s funny is that I had just finished a book about the Franklin expedition, Ice Blink, by Scott Cookman, when I saw the TV commercial. Synchronicity at work, I guess.
