CKR interview download

For those of you who haven't snagged it yet, links and mirrors to the single most amazing CKR interview EVER. This one was supplied to me by a non-ljer, so I can't send out proper props, but let it be known that there is a kind and generous soul out there who wanted us all to get our Callum fix so took the time to dig through her old DVDs and find this (and several other clips that I'll be posting later), burn a compilation disc, and mail it across the North American continent to deliver it unto my greedy hands and hence onward to you all. ;)

ETA: Hahaha, yes, I guess you guys would probably actually like to know which interview this is, yes? ;P It's a six-minute long interview by StarTV in which the reporter (Terry Mulligan possibly, I think) rides around in a truck with Callum and also talks to him in front of some lovely mountainscapes. There's a good bit of talk of his ongoing recovery from alcoholism and of his filming sex scenes. *G* (My apologies for the file size-- 160-190ish MB depending on which link you grab-- but it's what I had to go with to get the quality and cutting to turn out properly on the freeware I'm currently using.)

Sadly, no. I've been trying to figure that out bcz I need that info for the compilation project (i'm putting all the clips i get in chronological order). Of course we can figure that it's at some point after 1998 because it's got the Last Night and dS S4 footage, as well a snippet of footage from the Genies where he won for Last Night, but beyond that? Well, he's wearing the same T-shirt as he does in the Last Stop interview, but that doesn't really tell us much since he seems to hang on to the same clothes for many years... ;) *rewatches* Oh! and the ExistenZ footage, so post 1999... er, and the Last Stop footage so 2000 or later.

I'll be doing some more research to try to track down the date and will get back to you if I find anything concrete.

when you cut and paste into your web browser, are you adding an 'h' in front of the 'ttp://'? i cut the h off in the post since not direct linking extends the life of YSI links. If that doesn't help, try the new mirror that _divy_ added a few comments above.

Hmmmm... it is entirely unacceptable for you not to get to see his pretty face, so let's figure this out. *g*

You say you listened to the interview through one of the above links, so can I take it that you did get something to download? If so, but you're only getting sound and not the picture, you're probably just experiencing a codec problem. See the links in the comments below for a free download of VLC Media Player. IF you dl and instal VLC and still can't get the clip to play with picture in VLC, try the codec downloads listed below.

If I've misunderstood and you haven't been able to download anything at all yet, try the last couple of YSI links that have been added to the main post, as some of the early ones may have been used to their full allotment by now, resulting in the 'file not available'.

If all else fails, hang in there. At some point in the not-too-distant future, I'll be starting the distribution of a disc with all these interviews on it for people who are unable to download.

Can I ask a stupid question? What kind of player or codex do I need to watch this file? I tried to open it with MWP and Quick Time, but it wouldn't open with with either.

Not a stupid question at all. Apparently either the encoder I use (autogordianknot, set to use basic Xvid codecs) or my cut & splice freeware (virtualdub) does some tricky encoding so that unless you have ALL the most updated codecs, these clips are picky about what they play on.

Try VLC Media player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/), which is an awesome freeware media player that will generally play just about anything. You can also try dling more codecs for you 'puter:

but seriously, is colin doing or going to do any more acting work? he was so freakin good in that movie. on the one hand i hate to see kids whose whole childhood gets messed up by working too hard as child-actors and on the other hand he's got such talent it would be nice if he could go ahead and continue to use and enjoy it.
