Due South review in latest Empire magazine

Empire Magazine, a UK movie magazine, gave Due South season 1 DVDs a full-page review. It ends:

[I]t's when the heroes' values are put to the test that the show really comes into its own -- notably in two-parter Victoria's Secret. Written and directed by Haggis, it's the series' standout episode, a combination of thriller and romance that's rarely been matched on the small screen since -- although the Rear Window-esque series finale that follows it comes close.

At its worst, Due South is a witty and well-written genre hit; at its best, it's one of the most original and quietly influential shows of the mid-'90s. It may lack the polish of Haggis' more recent efforts, but his fingerprints are clearly all over it -- and you won't need a Mountie's tracking skills to see them.

Four out of five stars.

And of course, would likely never have been written if Haggis wasn't suddenly being all successful with everything.

Well how could you not like the creator of Walker, Texas Ranger? Oh, and due South, I guess. ;)
