I'm not sure this is allowed, but I hope it is.

[livejournal.com profile] moondroplette is coming for a four day pimping visit next month and one of the shows I want to get her into is Due South. What I need help on, though, is what to show her in order to drag her into the Canadian love and never look back;) I was thinking Pilot/Victoria's Secret/Burning Down The House/Call of the Wild. What else? I want her to get a taste of both the Ray V and the Ray K partnerships.

"North" for RayV. "Eclipse", "Asylum", and MOTB, definitely for RayK. All those are primo. Anybody who watches MOTB and doesn't get the slash, just ain't looking.

I'm not a big RayV fan, but "North" is a great episode and shows that he at least likes Fraser. It's kind of hard to tell with him sometimes, IMHO. MOTB is all about the kiss, or buddy breathing, as it were. "Nothing's changed, right?" Yeah, sure.

The comparison of father's is another reason I like "North", too. It gives us insight into why RayV is the way he is and allows a little view of what he could've become if Fraser hadn't shown up to give him a different path.

And yeah, I love the idea of showing the difference in underwater relations.

North...was one of my first exposures to the show. and then I had to show my hubby. He hasn't seen any others but he liked that one. I did too. That would be my fave Ray V. ep

Then I'd have to say Dead Guy Running for one of my fave Ray K eps. Then Eclipse.

But the ones you mentioned are a must first. except for COTW. I liked it but was glad I saved it for the very last ep I watched.

I have to agree that "North" and "Mounty on the Bounty" are absolute must sees. I also really like "Juliet is Bleeding". There's heartache and there's tension between Ray V and Fraser as Fraser searches for the truth.

The Gift of the Wheelman-- it's sort of a turning point for the show.

The Man Who Knew Too Little.

One Good Man-- not only a good episode, but it sort of tells you what the show (at least the first two seasons) is about.

All the Queen's Horses.

Maybe also You Must Remember This? It's a good RayV episode, and it foreshadows Victoria's Secret.

The Deal is my all-time favorite RayV episode, the one that made me lose my heart to him.

You have to show her Ladies Man... it's such an amazing episode and it will not only make her fall in love with RayK, but also appreciate how talented CKR is *g*

Personally, I'd advise against showing the pilot right against Victoria's Secret. Too much happens between those episodes to jump that far, and it may be tough for her to pick up on the subtleties of the relationships and truly enjoy the shows. Same goes for BdtH/CotW.

You could sprinkle a few more episodes in there, I suppose. I would suggest The Deal as one of them for the representation of the first two seasons...that's a fantastic Ray Vecchio ep.

I agree North and The Deal are excellent.

And Juliet is Bleeding as a followup to The Deal.

I'd also say that if you show her Victoria's secret Letting go makes sense to have after that. It's got some nice healing moments in.

Someone suggested it's intresting if you watch You must remember this, victoria's secret and Letting go back to back to get the whole arc in there. As in the former we get the first hint of Victoria.

All the Queen's horses has very little Ray in it (they are only on screen together really for about 5 minutes)

I cannot remember the name but the first episode of the first season. Fraser saying, "...and we sent you packing..." is one of my favorite lines ever!

Hope you don't mind me jumping in here ;-)
'Manhunt' is the epsidoe in question.

It's the one in which Leslie Nielson guestars for the first time.
A good episode, I like it

Fraser is talking to a classroom of schoolkids at the beginning of this ep and says that line.
