Hey,could someone please recommend me some fics?Gen or slash(F/RK...possibly F/RV) is my prefference right now,but het is fine, too.I haven't been reading DS fanfic for long(and DS slash I almost haven't read),so I don't even know if I have the must-reads covered *g*.And if you don't feel like reccing yourself, but know a good recs page that'd be nice, too.*s*

I wanted to reply to all of the kind recs people gave me,and I even started to,but they got to be quite a few *l*.And since it's basically the same reply,I'll say it here-Thank you all a lot,I'll use some of the recs now and I'm stacking these for future enjoynment!

my recs page is pretty comprehensive of fraser/kowalski (and has a wee bit of het too)--i've been working on it for years. on the down side, it might be a bit *too* big. ds recs (http://Www.waxjism.org/cimorene/recsds.html). and [livejournal.com profile] makesmewannadie has some smaller ds recs sets on specific themes linked from the sidebar in her journal.

Actually, I've got 170 recs under due South (http://www.livejournal.com/users/makesmewannadie/tag/due+south) on mine, too, so I'm not sure it's any smaller, though the themed breakdown may help. Bifictional Bedlam, Thefourthvine, and Butgeorge are also good for due South...http://www.livejournal.com/users/makesmewannadie/77497.html is the "Rec the Reccers" post that lists them.

Really, though, a good Google search turns up quite a bit.

You've probably read most of these, but off the top of my head:

Wildly dangerous ways, An admirable solution, Passion, Border between life and death - all by Speranza

Sunday's Child and Hawks and Hands by Dira Sudis

Broadway Hotel by Resonant

How Ray got his groove back by Aristide and Bone

Heavy bag and The end of the road by Kat Allison

Unassuming and Shades of Ray by Miriam Heddy

for humour, i think speranza's best are "juggling act" and "chicago's most wanted" (and while it's by no means speranza's only good quality, she's definitely one of the best at it). and hmmm, i think my favourites by resonant are "teeth of the hydra" and "a fine and private place" and "too sweet". i'd add, oh, "playing wolf" by kellie matthews, "blueprint" by journey, and "the sweet hereafter" by china shop.

I'd add to those above what is probably my favorite -- Enduring Distance, by Speranza

Shrift's Polyamorous Recs Page.

Choose the fandom in the little menu at the top. You'll find the recs catagorized by Gen/Het, Het/Slash mixed, and Slash, so you can read the genre you like.

And if you really have a lot of time to devote to this pursuit, the [livejournal.com profile] ds_flashback recs community contains a year and a half's worth of daily recommendations, covering a very wide and mostly excellent array of stories. I'd say just start at the beginning (http://www.livejournal.com/users/ds_flashback/2003/06/28/") and work your way forward via the handy "Next Day" button.

Here are my Fraser/Kowalski recs (http://beth-h.mrks.org/Recs.html#3), and here are my recs for everything else (http://beth-h.mrks.org/Recs.html).

Excellent recs above. I'd suggest Justacat's due South recs (http://justacat.slashcity.org/MainSiteMenu.html) as well, particularly her Desert Island stories. I don't know how long it's been since it's been updated, as much of JaC's heart belongs (quite understandably :-) to Bodie and Doyle these days, but if you're new to the fandom it'll give you lots of good directions in which to go.

If you find a story you like on a page/LJ other than the author's, try looking them up in the due South fiction archive on Squidge (http://www.squidge.org/dsa/) or due Slash (http://www.dueslash.com/), two good-sized fiction archives.

Also, many of the people on this page - myself included - write or have written dS fic. If you're curious, click on a username and see if the person's got a fanfic website listed on their LJ or has stored their fic in their memories.

Enjoy. Revel. Stick around, come back, hang out. This is a good fandom.

Well, [livejournal.com profile] pearl_o has a page where she keeps the stories she likes and most of them's DS.

It's over here (http://del.icio.us/pearl_o) and she updates it constantly.

Enjoy!

You can always look through the [livejournal.com profile] crack_van memories for their dS recs. I also have some recs on my lj here (http://www.livejournal.com/users/merelyn/52610.html#cutid1).

Not really a recs set, since most of the ones I know have already been mentioned, but a while ago there was a meme of favourite dS fic moments going around. My response, with links to the fics, is here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/jad104/3995.html

Or you could just start reading your way through MRKS (http://www.mrks.org)!

Oh, very good idea, Janne, linking to that meme! I didn't do the meme when it went around but I did stick every response I saw into memories, which you can find here (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=_divya_&keyword=Favorite+Fic+Moments+Meme&filter=all), [livejournal.com profile] nyn17.

Oh, excellent. I picked up some of those at the time but I got distracted. Going through that splendid collection of yours should keep me entertained for a while.

I'm very new to the fandom, too, and I just wanted to say that I'm very glad you asked this question and am very grateful to everyone who's answering.

Hi, I stuck all the instalments of my nascessant rec list (it's a sort of perpetually ongoing project) in tags and got this:
http://www.livejournal.com/users/buzzylittleb/tag/due+south+rec-age
That said, I'll be borkmarking this thread for further reading.
I haven't been here all that long, really.
