Bummer about the FB dS group going private. Maybe you could still post those links and then include how one might get invited to join the FB group?

I'm expecting some dS fanart to be posted to AO3 soon as art inspired by one of my fics. When that happens, I'll give you the link to share in the monthly digest.

Thanks for always encouraging me with your comments, my motivation has been running low lately but I'll keep going! I guess I'll stick to my decision though, at least for now, it was such a relief to mentally cross off Facebook from my list of places to keep an eye on, especially as I always struggle with finding the permanent links to FB posts (it's actually easy but I somehow always manage to forget where to get them and I hate that hassle :D).

And \o/ for more dS art coming up!

Oh noes, I certainly didn't mean anything about you making a special additional effort for FB! I just didn't know that the art there wasn't something you spotted easily while casually being on FB. I myself found FB to be enough of a hassle for me that I left it about a decade ago, so I am totally in tune with your comment about the "cross it off" relief, and I was even only considering rejoining because I thought YOU were more active on it.

No worries, I didn't take it that way! I don't hang around on FB much anymore and contribute to groups even less, but I haven't had the heart to actually leave it because I want to be able to check things out if (when) I get curious about something, and also I don't want my old posts and comments with other people's conversations to disappear from the groups (I'm pretty obsessive about preserving fandom history at least as long as the platform exists). Other than that, I'd so love to leave Meta and never look back, lol.

If you're considering joining new fandom spaces, I heartily recommend Discord and Tumblr, the dS stuff happening in those spaces is really worth the effort!

Alas, although I hate that I am missing out on so much dS stuff by not being active on Discord and Tumblr, I am the opposite of looking to join new fandom spaces. Purely for the sake of dS, I did try both Tumblr and Discord, but I have some neuroatypical processing issues that made those spaces overwhelming for me. The DW format, and before that the LJ format, were perfect for me. I really miss the days before fandom splintered into so many different platforms.

I feel you - it took me literally years to get used to Tumblr and Discord, and I still struggle with them, they are pretty chaotic. So I mostly lurk and occasionally find the headspace where I can actually communicate something there. FB was quite near to the LJ/DW experience as a fandom platform until it became impossible to search and categorize anything in the groups. (Librarian talking here, eh?)
