So, the folks in due South don't actually have special powers, Stetson of Invulnerability aside. But what if?
What if they were born with powers, abilities, or attributes beyond human? What if they woke up to a "choosing" of some sort from capricious gods or aliens or fae?
Who would get what powers if things were fair? Who would overcome harmful abilities and figure out how to use them for good? Who would totally use levitation to drop people's pants around their ankles? Who should never, ever, under ANY circumstances get super speed? Who can fly and how do they do it?
Choose a character from dS or another part of the C6D multiverse. Talk about their powers, how they got them, and what they do with them. Disagree with other people if you like. (You can choose a character someone else has already done.)
Alternatively, rec fic or art here in which someone's got superpowers of some sort!

Date: 2014-04-26 03:19 am (UTC)Francesca wakes up one morning seeing auras - not a very physical power, because she's not a character who relies on that, but one that helps her read people's intentions and emotions. It takes practice, figuring out what different shades mean and how they relate to whatever's going on in their heads as well as what's happening in the moment. It makes her really good at interrogations, though, and since her first one (the stinker getting slowly more terrified by her malapropisms), she's starting out from a position of confidence, which helps a whole lot. She plays the good cop sometimes. Sometimes, when it's something involving kids or women, she scares the shit out of hardened criminals with small, icy fury, telling them what they're thinking about and getting the confirmation her partners need to turn suspicion into something solid.
And conveniently, with her kids she has it easier in some ways than a lot of parents, being able to spot tantrums and redirect them before they erupt.
