Hey gang! As part of the festivities for due South's 20th Anniversary, I'm going to be hosting a rewatch of the pilot movie on Livestream, which, if you're not familiar with it, is a site that allows people to all watch the same thing, with a chat in the sidebar.
If you think that's something you'd like to do, fill out the poll letting me know when the best time would be. Also, it's relatively simple to use the Livestream, if anybody wants me to teach them how to do it so that multiple watches can be hosted at different times. Just let me know in a comment if that's something you're interested in!

Date: 2014-04-20 01:29 am (UTC)You go to this page: https://secure.livestream.com/myaccount/launchchannel to sign up. Fill out the forms, and then download the Procaster application.
That will probably take some tinkering with, and mine has been set up for so long that I don't remember all the settings I had to tweak. The basic ones are setting it to No Camera (other wise it'll stream your webcam), and you'll probably have a better stream if you set it to Mobile quality.
When you click Go Live, it should pop up a green square on your screen that you can drag around and change the size of. What's inside it is what will show up on the stream. All of your audio on your computer will also show up. You have to fool around with it a bit to see how many programs you can have running at once before the stream will break. Sometimes it jerks around or won't stay in sync; it's finicky, but for a bunch of people watching and chatting, it's the best bet I've found.
When I ran it on Windows, I could use the chat in the procaster, but on Mac, it doesn't work, so you have to go to your stream, be sure to mute and pause the video playing there, and just chat in the box there like everybody else.
If you want to test run it sometime, let me know!
