...or more to the point, Outside Canada
I was just looking on wikipedia, that great resource of mostly accurate information. Just as the Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy is mostly reliable. And the people who find the Guide less than reliable are usually not able to correspond with the publishing house based in Ursa Minor... because they are suffering from terminal lack of oxygen or been eaten by the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal.
Anyway, International Liason Officers are real!!!
I just thought that would be really interesting, now to find out if Mounties have guns in Canada, and more importantly, would Ray have a gun if he was a Mountie in Canada.

The RCMP International Operations Branch assists the Liaison Officer (LO) Program to deter international crime relating to Canadian criminal laws. The IOB is a section of the International Policing, which is part of the RCMP Federal and International Operations Directorate. Thirty-five Liaison Officers are placed in 25 other countries and are responsible for organizing Canadian investigations in other countries, developing and maintaining the exchange of criminal intelligence, especially national security with other countries, to provide assistance in investigations that directly affect Canada, to coordinate and assist RCMP officers on foreign business and to represent the RCMP at international meetings...

Date: 2012-04-25 12:42 am (UTC)I have heard of naturalized Canadians applying, though none specifically who were prior US LEOs. But it's not unheard of; here in the US, we actually had a British citizen working for a local department, though the laws here only require that they've got a permanent residency visa. Up there, you have to have full citizenship.

Date: 2012-04-26 01:17 am (UTC)I have no beta for the big bang story. In case you aren't going to do a story for the big bang as well, may I still consider your offer for it? I don't know if my story is something you could like, though. No hard feelings if you don't feel to. I also think I'm being quite rude asking this way, so, don't worry if you don't want to.
