Hi! Please pass the word, if not the link, about Wilby Wonderful playing at Harvard Square's The Brattle Theatre Friday March 18 and Saturday March 19 (check out the Brattle's calendar for more info)

Even better, the writer/director/co-star Daniel MacIvor will be present for the weekend, doing Q&A and whatnot. I had the immense pleasure of seeing Wilby twice at the Toronto Film Festival last September, both times with him doing Q&A after, and he's just, well - wonderful!

So if you want to see PG lovely and rumpled, and CKR sleeveless and tanned, on the BIG screen, or get the chance to ask for good on-set stories about either of them from someone who was there... make sure to come and join the fun!

Were there any good behind the scenes stories? I missed the Q&A at VIFF, I was too busy, um, stalking outside the theater.

Lol, I remember that too!! Someone didn't get that CKR's character James Allodi's character were meant to be gay. Poor director was so flustered!!

One funny thing was when Daniel said that the best way to get everyone to be part of his film was to say that he wrote the part just for them! He also talked about filming in quite a remote location, but I can't remember any specific stories he told, I'm afraid.

Definitely recommend the film though. And I did my share of stalking on premiere night. I'd actually flown into Canada from Britain on the day of the premiere, for a holiday, and when I found out I could catch the premiere, I knew I couldn't miss it. So I had been up for over 24 hours straight, had been on a plane for 8 hours, lost in Toronto for about 2 hours (that was one long street!) and was fuelled on sugar and Tim Hortons hot chocolates. I was so hyper but CKR was such a sweetheart and the rest of the cast were really friendly and chatty. I also met Dan MacIvor the next day, and he stopped to chat for a while.

Oh I wish I did!

Yup, the vacation was completely last minute, because I had decided to go look round York University (thinking of doing a graduate course there) and then spend a few days in the city, which was great. I also went to a few films at TIFF, but I wish I could have arrived a few days earlier for the start of the festival.

Oh, man. I'm dying to see this movie. It's not even on Netflix yet!

I'm in California, otherwise I'd so be there.

This is the community I was going to suggest you post in. I'm glad you found it. :)

I'm jealous, jealous, jealous. I hope you enjoy it and get lots of stories to share. *hugs*

Film Movement also releases the DVD at the same time it starts screenings so if the film doesn't come to your city you can buy the dvd for 19.95.

I'm a member and so I got mine as part of the regular member mailing, but I believe you can just order it from the Film Movement catalog without being a member.
