Thank you for the kind comments. I'm glad you enjoyed the story. I've always felt Fraser spent too much time alone and too much time in his own head. One can only imagine what that much self-reflection could do to Fraser's perception.

Yes. Presenting Fraser as the incubus he believes himself to be, all the justifications he comes up with as though they are reality, the scum-of-the-earth doing the best he can to rein in his Avatar-Of-Kaliness - and then Ray, far more observant than Fraser had any notion of, blowing each and every act of destruction out of the water.

And taking enough time with it to make it real. All that hesitation.

I appreciate your generous feedback. Fraser's view of himself is certainly tainted with the standards set by the authority figures in his formative years. Ray, with his "regular guy" sensibility, is perhaps the only one who could reach him.

I find myself totally captivated by these two boys. They're perfect for one another--in some ways strong and smart, in some ways needy and foolish.
