I've been bad about posting updates/interesting stuff/fic announcements here, and I apologize to those of you who've already seen this stuff.

1. I've finally set a date for the 2008 Alterna-Con of Awesomeness (aka [livejournal.com profile] can_con2008). You can find more information at my original post but the short version is that I'll be holding a con for slash-oriented LJ fen from Friday, August 15 to Sunday, August 17th, 2008 in Toronto, Ontario. This con is meant to coincide with/supplement the much larger and more official RCW 193 due South Convention, which will going on at the same time. Please check out their website for more information.

2. I drove the dS [livejournal.com profile] crack_van wheel for November. I put together a list of all my November recs, which link back to the original [livejournal.com profile] crack_van post.

3. New fic! Or, at least, new-ish.

Title: Something Forgets Us Perfectly
Author: [livejournal.com profile] nos4a2no9
Pairing: Fraser/Other Male Character
Rating: NC-17
Length: 4,481 words
Notes: This piece is sort of a self-contained prequel to the Rentboy AU, a due South story I've been working on for about a year and a half. I hope to be finished the longer fic by late spring, so this short story is just meant to give you a taste of what I've got planned. Sex and angst, basically.

Pairings: Benton/Mark, Mark/OFC
Rating: R
Length: about 1800 words
Summary: Benton as a teenager.
Notes: Thank you kindly to [livejournal.com profile] zabira for the beta. This story was partly inspired by the following piece of lyrics:

But way back where I come from, we never mean to bother,
We don't like to make our passions other people's concern,
We walk in the world of safe people, and at night we walk into our houses and burn.

-- Dar Williams, from the song "Iowa".

Title: Calling
Vidder: Zerlina
Pairing: Fraser/LaCroix, and a wee bit of Fraser/Vecchio
Rating: G
Warning: dubcon
Links: Watch on IMEEM | WMV lite ver. (6.5MB) | WMV high-quality ver. (12.5MB)

Sorry about the glitches in the wmv files! I had to rush myself to finish this one up before I leave my country. The song is in Japanese, but I think the Benny/Macon love is pretty much universal... (Wait, why are you looking at me funny?)

Unspooling (The Black and White Remix)
Fraser/Kowalski, Fraser/Smithbauer, PG, ~2500 words

When he was eleven, they moved to Inuvik and stayed for a couple of years. That was the first time Fraser saw a movie.

Title: Meeting Minds and Mounties (5/?)
Author: Laurieisme (aka [livejournal.com profile] revolution25 )
Rating: PG-13 (will go up in later chapters)
Spoilers:None really.
Disclaimer: I don't own, blah blah blah
Summary: The Bolt brothers start killing people in Las Vegas. What’s a Mountie to do but go down and help a certain team of CSIs with the investigation?
WARNINGS: SLASH (finally), language.
Pairings: (both past, hinted at) F/T, F/K.
A/N: Microfiche, if you don't know, is a piece of film that has pictures on it, the machine you use has a monitor and a dial. It can hold all forms of information on it, a lot of the time it’s something like Newspapers, which don’t store well. You turn the dial and it goes forward with the pictures. You've probably seen them in movies and/or TV shows before. It's in this chapter, just in case you thought I'd gone crazy explaining some weird thing. I remember having to use it for research, which doesn't make me old, just nerdy and cool.

Chapter 2
Chapter 3
Chapter 4

Coffee and Chocolate
F/K, G, 471 words

He never used sugar ever again, just stopped at the store to pick up coffee and beer and three huge bags of M&Ms - one for his apartment, one for the car, and one for his desk at the precinct.

Fundamentals
Fraser/Smithbauer, G, 957 words

When Ben Fraser moved to town, he'd stand around the edges of the lake after school, the sky dusky from the almost hidden sun, and watch Mark and the other kids play, clutching his books under his arm.

Author: Tara Keezer

[livejournal.com profile] getfraserlaid Prompt: 170. Fraser/Crowley (Demon in Good Omens) - Crowley’s newest assignment is to tempt Fraser. What better way than through sex?
Notes: This is close enough to the prompt to count, I think. 3,300 words, or thereabouts. All thanks to Marcus and Candy for kicking the tires before I put it up for public consumption.

( Follow the fake cut to Crowley, Azriphale and an urgent desire to be elsewhere. )

A while back I did a grand icon prompt fiction meme, this is the one that ate my brain, and proved that brevity may be the soul of wit, but it makes writing kind of difficult. It is dedicated to [livejournal.com profile] skater_g8r, who was very very patient, when presented with a twenty part comment fic written in five different sessions.

And so,
Title: Window To The Soul
"Pairing": Fraser/Kowalski, Fraser/Turnbull, Fraser/Kowalski/Turnbull
Rating: Porn to the power p.
Words: 5300 (oh god!)
Setting: post Asylum, references to MotB
Random Quote: uh,
And the only rational part of his brain just keeps repeating that it ain’t greatness, ain’t greatness and then tells itself to shut the fuck up ‘cause it wasn’t greatness, ever, not since he found Fraser getting hot and sweaty with somebody, who really isn’t him, except in those sort of pubescent Charles Atlas fuelled dreams he had after he met Stella, after he “met” Ellery, after he’d met Steve Bueller in seventh grade and got his head handed to him…

Prompt: this lovely icon by Skater, which probably explains the plot better than I can, this icon belongs to skater
