It'll take years to have me declared legally dead, and in the meantime Ma will be sitting in that house, every day, thinking maybe I'm alive out there somewhere, never knowing. That's the best case scenario. Worst case? They figure out who my family are and go after them. They'll spend the rest of their life in witness protection. Ma wouldn't live to see my pension."
