Warnings: It almost made me cry, and I wrote the damn thing. Hadn't wanted to, but it wouldn't leave me alone, so here it is. malnpudl, don't read this. Everyone else, this isn't a happily-ever-after story. It's more of a shit-happens-so-we-have-to-get-through-it-one-hour-at-a-time kind of story.
Notes: Pairing is Ray K./Fraser, set in early 2006; 1,650 words or so.

I'm fifteen miles out of town when Katie calls. Hadn't wanted to be, because today's her morning to help out at the school, but Ian Duncan's generator is on the fritz, and I need to get it fixed as fast as possible.
