For Your Consideration...

Hey! I just posted an unbeta'd Fraser / Ray K story to my Live Journal page, Lady Sylvia's Day Book Slash Journal, which I think you all can reach by searching for lady_sylvia
I wrote this for the "Paint" challenge at ds_flashfiction, but couldn't figure out how to post it before the deadline! (It's more about painting than paint exactly.)
It's a bit mild on the slash, heavy on the purple, and should have warnings re: adult subject matter PLUS I would like to apologize to anyone who might find the religious parts annoying or offensive (it's an AU set in Italy, late Renaissance - there had to be Christian bits).
Disclaimers: Any resemblance between these characters and those created by the owners of "Due South" is purely coincidental. But they deserved to be happy... OH! And I am NOT an art historian - sadly, my claims in the story about depictions of Christ may be totally bogus and ruin the premise of the tale. Oh well.
Thanks and Inspirations: to everyone who writes DS slash, particularly, for this story, to Viridian for the "Things Once Linked" series and to Marcella Polman for "Aquarelle". For anyone curious about the type of image I had in mind, that was inspired by close-up stills of CKR in "Dice" (where our boy looks grieved and pained. Maybe he isn't, but since I've never seen the mini-series, that's my take).
Anyway, it's kind of a wordy squib, but I'd love to hear from anyone who gives it a try!
