Hello everyone, and Happy 2012! We look forward to another stellar year in the Due South fandom, which should culminate with RCW 139: From A Million Miles, the 7th RCW 139 convention to be held in August in Toronto.

That said, we need your help to make the convention happen. We'll get right to the point: we currently do not have enough registrations to make the convention viable. Shortly after the last convention, and in early 2011, a lot of people wanted another event and asked when the next convention was going to be. Unfortunately, the great majority have not yet signed up. At this point, we need a minimum of 20 more attending registrations by 1 February 2012 to go ahead with RCW 139. This is by no means unreachable! And if you know you won't be able to attend, please get a supporting membership - the convention doesn't happen without our supporters (and you'll get a fantastic bag of goodies out of it!).

We know we're asking you to register well in advance, but the reality is that there is significant financial risk in organizing this event, which is borne entirely by the organizing committee. Remember that like you, we're just fans of the show who are doing this on the side. As such, we need to have a reasonable level of confidence that things are going to work out financially. At this point, all you need to do is place a $75 deposit before 1 February, and the balance of the payment will only be due by 31 May. For those who have already done so, thank you!

We think RCW 139: From A Million Miles will be another fantastic event. Each RCW 139 convention is unique... this one will be no different. You'll meet new and old friends alike, from all over the world. We already have interest from a number of guests, including Paul Gross, Jay Semko, Jeff King, and Tom Melissis. We have some new events planned, such as the Due South Props Exhibition. And of course we will bring back some of the more successful events: Due South Jeopardy, the Gala Dinner, Episode Watching... it will be an awesome time!
