crack_van drivers needed!

As you may know, [livejournal.com profile] crack_van has been a source of Due South fic recs that community's inception in 2003. Currently, [livejournal.com profile] thursdaynext_27 is reccing over there, and I'll be driving the Due South crack van for March. However, there's no one signed up underneath me to continue our fandom's nine year run. Please consider signing up here to take a turn at the wheel. You can check out what's been recced in the past using the Due South tag on [livejournal.com profile] crack_van or (perhaps more easily) by checking out the links to recs kept over at delicious.

If you're at all interested, please don't hesitate to give it a try! This is a pretty low-key thing - you just have to come up with a sentence or two explaining why Fic X rocks your socks. And reccing at [livejournal.com profile] crack_van is an excellent way for newcomers to the fandom to get involved. =)

hazelwho, I am moved by your posting to consider being a crack van driver this coming summer, especially since you say it's a good way for fandom newcomers to get involved...but I'm SUCH a newcomer that there are things about posting that I question, especially where I see an absence of URL's and don't understand the mechanism of creating a link just by typing the name of the author or the fic. Can you point me in the direction of instructions on proper rec posting "etiquette"?

...talk about "new peeps being interested"! I've been in fandom less than a year, only learned about Bitchin Party THIS MONTH (from mizface -- YAY miz) and signed up INSTANTLY for what will be my first ever fannish con, my first solo trip outside my home state, and my first trip to the West Coast all rolled up into one! So, TYK for the link to crack-van etiquette, and if I'm still not getting it we could TALK LIVE at Bitchin Party!
