News: RCW139 Due South Reunion in 2019!

Guys, I came across this on Tumblr. Copy pasted from their website www.rcw139.org:

Saddle up your travelling shoes. 2019 will mark the 25th anniversary of Due South, and five years since RCW 139: Thank You Kindly, an incredible event that drew over 100 people from nine countries to Toronto. We think it's time to get together again. We're therefore very excited to announce the RCW 139 Reunion Event, which will take place in August 2019, in Toronto, of course!



If any of you have been to past events like this I‘d appreciate some reviews of how this went.

I've attended the every-other-year RCW 139 cons ever since I came into fandom, up to and including the 20th anniversary RCW 139 con in 2014 when the con comm said that 2014 would be the last con...and true to that word they are calling this a "reunion event" and not a con. It will not be at the same hotel where we repeatedly held the cons and it will not be structured the way the cons were structured. That being said, I'd be happy to answer questions about either the RCW 139 cons of the past or the reunion planned for next year.

Were there ever members of the Due South cast present? Do you know what they think/thought of these cons?

The short answer is "yes there were" and "yes I do know"--I will give you a longer answer tomorrow when I'm not on the verge of falling asleep. (It's about 3:00 AM here in Chicagoland.)

Cast and crew members attend based on their availability -- this is not an "actor con" where specific actors are under contract to appear. Some cast and crew make it known that they will "drop by" if available and some do a surprise "drop by" without any advance notice. Also, Paul Haggis has skyped with con attendees on a big screen in the con hotel's ballroom.

Based on cast and crew repeat appearances at this con over the years, it's clear that cast and crew appreciate the devotion to the show and enjoy getting together with the fans.
