Chat viewing on Saturday
On Saturday 7 pm GMT,
seascribe and I are going to meet up on Skype to watch either a couple of due South episodes, or the Steve McQueen movie Bullitt. We haven't quite decided yet. And I know the latter isn't C6D or anything, but I do consider it due South-related anyway, since Ray K canonically had a thing for Steve McQueen. : )
Do join us if you want! My Skype-id is luzulae.

And I wrote a really fun scene in an upcoming fic with Fraser and RayK playing chess, and Ray flashing on Faye Donohue, which would make him Steve McQueen. (Stop fondling your bishop, Fraser!) I think SM is not the best looking man in the world, but DAMN his eyes are blue! I can see why Ray likes him...

I've never actually watched a movie with Steve McQueen, but I want to! So get hold of the movie in case we decide to watch that. : )

I so want an excuse to write a fic with THOSE guys.

(Here, if you want a pseudo-prompt: most of the guys recruited are people who knew...Chris? (Yul Brynner's character) from some previous context. The exceptions being Steve McQueen's character (if I'm mapping the actors correctly), who he meets in the opening scene with the hearse-driving, and the Kid. And yet, it's McQueen's character who instantly and through the whole thing becomes his right-hand man and closest thing to a confidant or partner -- *not* any of these guys he has existing relationships with. And we don't really see how or why that happens. But there they go riding off into the sunset together at the end. What's up with that? :) )

He's an arrogant ass,but then if you were as clever as him it would be hard to resist the temptation. Besides which, politically, he's right. It's hard not to come across as anything less than arrogant when you know you're right. Hummm...women's rights... let's have them. No! Hey, fuck you. GK, you arrogant asshole. Azerbaijan, freedom from oppressive regime, GK, you arrogant asshole! Fuck off, I'm right.,
Okay. I've only had to glasses of wine. The rest is going in the freezer so I can cook Italian tomorrow! I shall stop hijacking this lovey, non chess related thread. (I am such a tragic nerd. Apologies to all concerned.)

She's still sexy, even if she's not as Irish as my subconscious dyslexia told me she was.

Find the number of longitude lines between you and the Prime Meridian in Greenwich, England. Remember when you were in school learning geography, and looking at the maps with those lines running north and south, from pole to pole? Those are longitude lines and they are used in calculating coordinates for travel and also for calculating time, relative to the Prime Meridian. Count the number of north/south longitude lines between you and the Prime Meridian. Between the Prime Meridian in England, and Chicago, Illinois, there are six longitude, or meridian lines. Determine if you're east or west of the Prime Meridian.
Look at the world map again. If you're west of the Prime Meridian, your GMT will be ahead of, or minus, the time at the Prime Meridian. If you are east, your time will be after, or plus, GMT. Put the minus or plus sign in front of the number you found from the previous step and that's your GMT.

And it turns out Desiree was right : 7 PM GMT is 1 PM near the lake they call Michigan.
Evening local time would have worked for me...I'm not sure yet about whether I can make it for the afternoon. Do you know yet if you'll be starting with dS eps or with Bullitt?
