due South/C6D tag game!
I'm thinking of running a due South/C6D tag game soon! Posting about it ahead of time so I can see if there's interest and if anyone has thoughts on the rules and the timing.
I first thought that I'd like to run a porn tag a la
stop_drop_porn, where you're tagged with a prompt and then write porn in 24 hours. But then I settled on something similar that would be open to more kinds of fanworks and would also be lower pressure.
What I thought we could do is this: you're tagged with a word as a prompt, and produce any kind of fanwork (porny or not, as you like) in 24 hours. This could be, for example, a fic, a podfic, a piece of art, a picspam, recs, meta, etc (or, y'know, a vid or a white cable-knit Fraser-sweater, but that might take more than 24 hours). As long as it's related to due South or C6D, it qualifies. You don't have to use the prompt, but it could be useful for inspiration. If you like, you can produce your fanwork ahead of time and post it when you're tagged. If you're tagged on a day when you're swamped, you can pass on the tag. I'd run it on
ds_noticeboard and
duesouth in parallell--you could announce your work on either comm and I'd compile an index at the end so no one misses anything.
Does this sound like fun? I thought I could put up the sign-up post on Friday, and start the tag on Monday. Anyone have thoughts about the rules or the timing?

Incidentally, I just created a "=fandom games" tag for Kuonji's Mad Libs, and I think it could be used for all sorts of games. I mean, this is a challenge, but it's also a game of tag? I'd love to see more fannish PLAY going on, you know?

Also, off topic, but how do you record podfics? I have been thinking about trying out that medium. I've got a microphone built into my laptop, but I don't know how to access it to record my voice. *is technologically impaired*

And hey, I'm always glad to help out with podficcing! The first step should be to download and install the free program Audacity, and then to go the

I'd better not sign up for any activities right now in any case; RL is squishing me for the next couple of weeks. But maybe another time.

Well, I wanted to make it low-pressure. Some people want to be able to make their contribution ahead of time, while other people like having a prompt for inspiration. : )
