On Saturday 7 pm GMT, seascribe and I are going to meet up on Skype to watch either a couple of due South episodes, or the Steve McQueen movie Bullitt. We haven't quite decided yet. And I know the latter isn't C6D or anything, but I do consider it due South-related anyway, since Ray K canonically had a thing for Steve McQueen. : )

My husband and I recently watched The Magnificent Seven (which has McQueen & also other famous people), in order to complete the set of The Seven Samurai, The Magnificent Seven, and Tampopo, all retellings of the same story. I'm pretty sure it's the first time I've actually seen him in anything...I've watched movies from his era, but not usually in his genres.

Oh, holy mother of god, that's an AWESOME film. I mean, come on... when they come over the horizon?

I so want an excuse to write a fic with THOSE guys.

(Here, if you want a pseudo-prompt: most of the guys recruited are people who knew...Chris? (Yul Brynner's character) from some previous context. The exceptions being Steve McQueen's character (if I'm mapping the actors correctly), who he meets in the opening scene with the hearse-driving, and the Kid. And yet, it's McQueen's character who instantly and through the whole thing becomes his right-hand man and closest thing to a confidant or partner -- *not* any of these guys he has existing relationships with. And we don't really see how or why that happens. But there they go riding off into the sunset together at the end. What's up with that? :) )

I was going to say, you know that's an existing fandom, right? But no, when I check the AO3 and IMDB, it seems the fandom is actually for a 90's tv series with the same name. There doesn't even seem to be Yuletide fic for the '60's movie.
