The true cost of oil: Garth Lenz @ TEDxVictoria

I just watched this.  It seemed like something Fraser would be interested in.

I've read a lot of fics where pipeline workers are mentioned, and many fics also mention Fraser's passion about the environment and First Nations rights, and I've also read quite a few F/K futurefics (which would be now 2012).  I'm afraid I don't know too much about any of this.  The only thing I know is that Canada is the biggest supplier of oil to the U.S. and that unfortunately, much of it is locked in the tar sands.  Just to be clear, I am not advocating one way or another.  Watching this, esp. the photos, made me think of Due South, and I thought I might share. :)

Thanks for posting. I forwarded the video link to my Senator with a request to vote against the Keystone XL pipeline here in the States. As end users of Canada's mining process, we're just as responsible for the ecological damage as the companies mining the tar sands.
