Paul Gross has a new series

According to The Hollywood Reporter ABC has picked up his pilot Eastwick to series. He plays a character named "Daryl", Daryl is....well, lets just say he isn't like Fraser, heh, heh.

Okay, Paul Gross, in a (loosely) Witches of Eastwick-based series? Starring among others Jamie Ray Newman (Cadman in Stargate: Atlantis) and Rebecca Romijn (Mystique, the X-Men movies) and directed by David Nutter (The X-Files). I'm... not sure how I feel about this.

I am cautiously optimistic. It does sound like it could be terrible, but Paul Gross has (barring very early-career notable exceptions) never let me down in his choice of material - if he says he had fun and thinks it's worthwhile, then it is.

This will, however, test my strong assertion that I can look at Paul and not see Benton, though. *g*

I am embarrassingly excited about this. I love the movie, campy and ridiculous as it is, and liked the book. Even if it turns out to be terrible:

I hope it won't turn out crappy. The women look like pretty-faced, bore-me-to-death actresses, but photos can be deceiving, so I hope for the best.
