Coincidentaly, I drove by the Palace Pier condos yesterday and had to shudder. Even before I was a Paul Gross fan I knew these were "the buildings that Mountie tossed his wife off". I don't know how other countries feel about their policing forces, but (and maybe it's just good PR), Canadians really like/trust the Mounties. They *solve* problems, they don't make them. So in addition to the horror of a guy tossing his wife off the balcony, we felt betrayed. Utterly betrayed. I could never live there and wonder if the condos are hard to sell.
